
Managers As Coaches

Targets of MAC
Coaching and performance management is now a key competence required by managers. Research shows that organisations which have developed and embraced a coaching culture outperform organisations that have not (CMI 2016: 21st Century Leaders - Building Employability Through Higher Education). This project is about developing Managers as Coaches (MAC).
MAC will enable two target groups of participants to access continuing VET opportunities training, thereby contributing to the priority relating to enhancing training for all: VET teacher/trainers and managers and owner/directors.

VET teachers/trainers
Firstly, MAC will train 14 VET teachers/trainers in the use and delivery of the Managers as Coaches VET course. The project will therefore impact on their skills and competences to support and train adult learners (i.e. managers and owner/directors) in the workplace.

Secondly, MAC will impact on skills and performance of 70 managers and owner/directors as they will learn and implement new skills and competences associated with the performance management and coaching of adults in the workplace. Both target groups will then be better placed to further develop and support the skills and competences of others in the workplace using the MAC course, tools and resources.
